Chicago Oracle Users Group Meeting August 26th 2016 – Recap

We had another awesome COUG meeting on August 26th. We held the meeting at my old stomping ground, The Pampered Chef located in the suburb city of Addison. They provided us with a roomy space, free giveaways (The Pampered Chef Water Infuser), and held an appetizer/cocktail hour afterwards for us. Chicago Oracle Users Group Meeting February 18th 2016 – Recap

We kicked off 2016 with a great meeting on February 18th. We had an excellent presentation by Tony Jedlinski and two presentations by Oracle Ace Director, Jim Czuprynski! Tony was our COUG “Show and Tell” and provided us with a great demo on how quickly you can go from a spreadsheet to a full blown Oracle Application Express (APEX) application in a matter of minutes. Chicago Oracle Users Group Meeting July 23rd 2015 – Recap

We had another great user group meeting this past Thursday! We had two excellent presentations by two very well known speakers! Our 1st presentation was by Oracle Ace, Biju Thomas. He did a great job going over a lot of cool new features available in 12c especially for those of us that are still 11g DBAs. Our 2nd presentation was by Oracle Ace Director, Jim Czuprynski. 12c New Feature – Online Statistics Gathering for Bulk Loads

How many times have we had to execute a CREATE TABLE AS SELECT or INSERT INTO…SELECT that involved a large amount of data then wondered why queries against this table are slow? Did we forget to gather statistics after the fact perhaps?
